Jonny regularly delivers up a healthy portion of original music mixed in with popular covers from Americana artists such as Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson, and Tom Petty to name a few. Blues features strongly in all of his shows, either with his dobro resonator playing delta style, or electric versions of Robert Johnson. You will also hear a few quirky ones from the Stray Cats or Violent Femmes.
Jonny Green is an American singer-songwriter, who got his start playing indi-rock in Florida and Georgia with bands such as the P-Town Players, Gyzeride, and Audiodelica, to name a few. His passion for indi-rock followed him to the United Kingdom, where he formed the three piece, Trolley (Six Days Till Sunday), playing the outer London. The album Cowboys & Angels marks his first solo album for sale, and represents several years of playing the Pubs and folk clubs of Brighton, England. Now based in Kansas City, MO, his music is moving towards a raw yet refined traditionalism, drawing on old school bluesmen like Lightning Hopkins, and Howling Wolf, folk legends such as Townes Van Zandt, and Paul Simon, to modern sounds from the likes of Radiohead, Jack White, and the Kills. Jonny Green is both a traditionalist, and simultaneously an innovator and artist in the world of independent music.
Jonny's live show is a mixture of his fusion-folk songwriting and traditional blues, Americana, and rock songs.
